The S100 is the straightforward way onto a riding mower: a 17.5 hp single-cylinder engine, a 42-in. Edge™ cutting system, and a hydrostatic transaxle with side-by-side pedals so there is nothing to shift. Sized for lawns up to about an acre.

S100 introduction
The S100 sits at the start of the 100 Series and is built for lawns from a quarter acre up to about an acre. Its 17.5 hp single-cylinder engine drives a 42-in. Edge™ deck that clears thick spring growth in a single pass, and the Kanzaki® Tuff Torq® hydrostatic transaxle gives an infinite range of ground speed with nothing to shift — you press forward, you press reverse, and the machine keeps pulling through both.
Everything an owner touches every week was kept simple: a single lever for choke and throttle, a mechanical fuel gauge you can read from the seat, an oil drain that needs no tools, and a spring-assisted lever to set cut height without leaving the seat. Two standard LED headlights and an hour meter cover early evenings and service intervals.
As your dealer we do the setup work before you see it: assembly, deck leveling, a 22-point pre-delivery inspection, battery charge and a fuel-up. Warranty service stays with us, so if something needs attention you call one number.
Product details
The 100 Series frame accepts a range of tested attachments — a bagger for clippings and leaves, a utility cart for mulch and soil, a snow blower and weather enclosure for winter. One machine covers the calendar rather than one season.
A full-size operator platform with a wide anti-vibration footrest and debris channels keeps long passes comfortable. The spring-assisted hand-grip lever raises and lowers the deck without leaving the seat.
A Kanzaki® Tuff Torq® hydrostatic transaxle gives an infinite range of ground speeds with no shifting. Side-by-side foot pedals put forward and reverse under the same foot, so direction changes stay smooth on slopes and around beds.

I've only used it 3 times but it runs great. I was especially pleased with the service I received from the dealer. I did everything over the phone. Basically I called and said “send me an S100” and in a few days it arrived.

I bought my S-100 at the beginning of the cutting season and after using it all summer, I have come to the conclusion that this mower is a great product and buy for the yard that I have. It performed excellent and when I did the initial service it was so easy that anyone could have done it. I would recommend this mower to anyone looking for a smaller lawn tractor that performs at top notch quality.

My previous lawn tractor was a 25 year old hand-me-down. This S100 is like a luxury car. Starts immediately every time, handles great, turning radius is nice and tight and I personally think it's beautiful. My neighbors see me cutting my lawn, smile and tell me I handle my machine like a pro. I have enjoyed every minute on my S100. My lawn has never looked better!

My first John Deere. The John Deere S100 was recommended to me by a mobile mechanic who had worked on my Cub Cadet that kept breaking down. I'm really happy with the mower, it's easy to operate and really a quality product. Very good handling, quiet running compared to other brands, easy maintenance.
